Damosa Land, multinational firms boost economic productivity in Davao

Full Potential Solutions, OP360, and other locators set foot in Damosa Land developments to boost employment

Damosa Land, leading developer of sustainable real estate in Mindanao, continues to supplement economic growth in the Davao region as it welcomes further expansion of multinational BPO firms and investors to the Damosa Diamond Tower within the Damosa IT Park, which will further generate jobs that will boost local talent among Davaoenos.

One of the most recent BPO firms that set foot in the Damosa Diamond Tower is Full Potential Solutions (FPS) – a performance-based outsourcing company with operations in the Philippines, India, Bogota in Colombia, and the USA. During the grand launch of the company’s recruitment hub at the Damosa Diamond Tower in November of last year, FPS announced that they are planning to hire 1,000 more employees in the coming years as they believe in the talent and potential of the people in Davao. Now, fit-out is ongoing on the 12th floor of Damosa Diamond Tower for their additional 1,600 sqm office space.

Earlier in 2022, the Damosa Diamond Tower also welcomed OfficePartners 360, the global outsourcing company, which sees to operate its second and biggest site in Davao City. With over a thousand seats, OP360 looks to occupy four floors in DDT that could generate as many as 1,500 jobs in the coming years. This will add to their thousands of global employees that serve their clients that range from mid-size to Fortune 500 companies. They are set to start their operations in the second quarter of 2023. “We knew that we made the right choice in investing in Davao,” said Atty. Tess Tan, director for Legal and Compliance of OP360.

Last year saw the start of office fit-out for OP360 at the ninth and tenth floor of the Damosa Diamond Tower. The company will start their operations this year.

Before the end of 2022, Sitel Business Services Corporation of the Sitel Group signed a deal with Damosa Land for the expansion of its operation in Damosa Diamond Tower. Sitel is one of the largest global providers of customer experience (CS) products and solutions in the world. They are looking to kick off their operation this year.

Launched in the first half of 2022, DDT is a 16-storey Grade A tower that champions “green architecture”. It is the first premium office development in Mindanao to receive an Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) certification for its efficient use of energy, water, and construction materials.

Recently, Damosa Diamond Tower received its Berde Certification from the Philippine Green Building Council after passing their stringent measures, further attesting to its green features. The building is also a recipient of several awards including Best Office Architectural Design in 2019 and Best Office Development in 2020 by the Philippines Property Awards.

Showing his optimism, Damosa Land President Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo shares, “More than delivering our commitment to provide sustainable real estate properties in the region, our developments at Damosa Land can champion Davao talent by housing multinational locators, such as Full Potential Solutions, OP360 and Sitel within the Damosa Diamond Tower. We are thrilled to partner with these companies that also believe in the potential of our region and people the way that we do.”

Supplementing growth and movement in Davao

In the Philippines, outsourcing firms have strategically expanded within Metro Manila and in emerging markets outside the city. Leechiu Property Consultants noted significant expansion of the IT-BPM sector in Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Pampanga, and Laguna – generating more than 70,000 new jobs outside the Metro.1 Specifically in the Davao region, a 96.5% employment rate was posted last October 2022, which is higher than the national employment rate of 95.5% – as stated by the Philippine Statistics Authority2, showing promising growth opportunities in the region.

Located in the heart of Lanang is the Damosa Complex which houses several of Damosa Land’s commercial properties that bring in locators from various industries. One worth noting is the Damosa IT Park – Southern Mindanao’s first PEZA-registered IT facility. It is a two-hectare district with three information technology buildings, a data center, and a commercial and utility area. Supporting the need for more employment opportunities, the Damosa IT Park is home to top IT-enabled service providers and corporate spaces such as Concentrix, SGV, and Regus.

Starbucks Drive-Thru Damosa sits within the Damosa Complex where business meets leisure.

Through the hustle and bustle of the district, Damosa Land also recently gained the trust of Starbucks Philippines by showcasing its strong business potential in Davao. Early this year, Starbucks officially launched its first drive-through branch in Mindanao within the Damosa Complex. Starbucks Philippines took great pride in investing with Damosa Land as it acknowledges the strong business activity not just within the property but also the whole region of Davao.

“As we strive to attract more investors in our community, Damosa Land will push for real estate properties that are geared towards supporting economic growth. It is our vision to find and showcase the culture, the people, and the potential of Mindanao both locally and internationally,” concludes Lagdameo.
