Pride Month 2022: Stronger Together Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Manila Galleria Celebrate Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria is one with IHG Hotels & Resorts and IHG Philippines in celebrating the colorful and joyful Pride Month 2022 with the theme, “Stronger Together” promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the workplace and the community.
The highlights of the activities include The Pride Talk last June 22 and Pride Day Friday parade around Ortigas Center last June 24. It was also the commencement of the hotel employees in joining Out & Open, one of IHG’s Employee Resource Groups for colleagues identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, (LGBTQ+) and allies. Out & Open provides a platform for all employees, members, and allies to participate in LGBTQ+ focused conversations, education and celebrations to foster an all-inclusive culture and work environment.
The guest speakers of The Pride Talk are Ms. Mickey Alonso, Luxury Core Specialist from IHG Philippines and Ms. Suzy Lee, Head of Data & Technology of JG Summit Holdings, Inc. who shared their knowledge and experiences as they discussed important topics on SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identification, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics), Handling LGBTQIA + Guests, and inspirational stories about acceptance, empowerment, self-care, and self-love. It was attended by hotel associates from different departments.
On the last Friday afternoon of June, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn associates showed support to the members of LGBTQAI+ as they carried-out their first ever Pride Parade in Ortigas Center. Their definition of pride has transcended to a higher level of consciousness of one’s own dignity and self-respect.
Ms. Gibeth Gloria, Executive Assistant Manager said that at IHG, associates and colleagues do more and excel even more at work when they embrace their truth and uniqueness, and when they feel accepted, understood, and they belong.
