New Solane video spreads hope and joy this Christmas

To celebrate the Christmas season this year, Solane created a special Holiday-themed video titled, “Alab ng Pasko,” which aims to spread hope and joy to viewers as it features heartwarming stories of families who have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The heartfelt video has been uploaded on Solane’s official Facebook (https://fb.watch/275QzXUy7J/) and Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GPj2B1T6y8) pages and has since garnered thousands of views.

The new Alab ng Solane video featured Mark Balmes (2nd from left) and his family, together with Solane marketing manager Valeri Villano (2nd from right), brand ambassadors Chef Sau del Rosario (rightmost) and Marx Topacio (leftmost)

As seen in the video, prolonged quarantine periods have been difficult for a lot of Filipinos, especially those who lost their jobs and livelihood. Among them are three fathers – Raymond Santos, a painter; Mario Balmes, a jeepney driver; and Frederick Faller, airport taxi driver – whose touching stories made the rounds on social media. All of them have struggled and have resorted to extreme measures just to make ends meet during the pandemic. Through it all, these fathers showed strength amid adversities by standing by their families and finding ways to survive.

“We have been doing a lot of outreach initiatives to help those badly affected by the pandemic. But for this video, we wanted the families to really feel kindness, hope and joy especially this Christmas, albeit in our own small way. We hope that  those who see the video will realize that it does not take much to make others feel the warmth and spirit of the season. A little kindness will go a long way,” explained Solane marketing manager Valeri Villano.

Together with Villano, Solane employees and brand ambassador Chef Sau del Rosario visited the families and brought  early Noche Buena meals and treats to make their Holiday celebration brighter.

The meals prepared by Chef Sau were personally special to him because they are dishes traditionally prepared by his mother and he wanted to  conveys the same care and affection to those families. Aside from the early Noche Buena, the families received free Solane LPG and grocery items. Solane also surprised them with simple yet festive Christmas decorations in their homes.

Not only have these fathers and their respective stories captured the attention of many Filipino netizens, they also serve as a reminder that despite the hardships they had to face during the pandemic, we can find the warmth and spirit of Christmas if we extend kindness, concern and empathy for one another.
