Globe cell site builds provide benefits that go beyond critical needs

Following Globe’s aggressive cell sites builds and network upgrades, boosted further by the implementation of the Bayanihan To Recover as One Act to aid in fast-tracking of build permits, better connectivity and data experience are now being felt nationwide.

Several Globe customers are attesting to the improvements in service experience, including online games and entertainment.  In Caloocan, where the telco has built 25 new cell sites around the city since January this year, Mark Carballo says, “mas naiintindihan ko na po ngayon ‘yung sistema na ‘pag mas maraming cell sites, mas maraming makikinabang sa mas magandang signal.” (I understand the system better now that when there are more cell sites, more people benefit from better signal.)

Carballo, an avid gamer, shares that he used to be a hater of telcos because of slow internet, especially at night when more people are online and he has to access videos on YouTube.

In a recent report by independent mobile analytics firm Opensignal[1], Globe jointly won in the Games Experience category, where users are playing real-time multiplayer mobile games on mobile devices with a score of 34.4 points, with the 4G experience scoring 36.1 points. The national study considers multiple genres of multiplayer mobile games to measure the average sensitivity to network conditions.

Globe has laid out a 3-pronged strategy to improve data experience  including aggressive cell site builds; upgrading all cell sites to 4G/LTE; and fast tracking the fiberization of Filipino homes nationwide.

The company strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9 which highlights the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development. Globe is committed to upholding the 10 United Nations Global Compact principles and 10 UN SDGs.
