Binibining Pilipinas showcased Pinoy culture in 2022 talent competition

Binibining Pilipinas entertained the audience at the New Frontier Theater and the online viewers worldwide with a one-of-a-kind talent presentation on June 23.

Hosted by Binibining Pilipinas 2021 Grand International Samantha Panlilio and runner-up Meiji Cruz, the show highlighted the amazing talents, colorful culture, and unique beauty of that every Filipina possess. It paid homage to the rising PPOP music with guest performances from groups DIONE and 1st.One that added more local flavor to the show.

Considered one of the major and most anticipated Binibining Pilipinas events, the talent competition was a testament to how well-rounded the Binibinis are. Nineteen of the 40 official contestants wowed the audience and judges as they showcased their singing, dancing, and artistic talents on stage.

Binibini 2 Kryzzia Lynn Moreno opened the performances with a cultural dance Pansak (or “to dance on top porcelain plates”) which is native to Tausug tribes. Binibini 6 Elda Louise Eznar followed with an astounding demonstration of sand painting. The crowd got wild when Binibini 8 Nicole Budol gave a concert-worthy performance of her original song “Gandang Hipon” that exude a message of empowerment and self-confidence. Binibini 9 Natasha Jung serenaded the audiences with a beautiful rendition of “Di na Muli” by Itchyworms. 

The competition continued with a cultural dance B’laan interpreted by Binibini 10 Fatima Kate Bisan. Binibini 11 Esel Mae Pabillaran followed with a fiery dance routine as a salute to Filipinas. Binibini 12 Leslie Avila wowed the audience as she showed off a masterful display of the local sport arnis. Binibini 15 Nyca Mae Bernardo gave a heartfelt ballad while Binibini 17 Chelsea Fernandez treated the audience with oozing sexiness and glamor as she sang Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever”. 

The audiences were floored as Binibini 18 Ma. Isabela David sang as she played the piano and rocked the theater as she played an electric guitar. Binibini 23 Nicole Borromeo gave an inspiring talk as she painted her interpretation of hope through charcoal. Binibini 25 Anna Valencia sang to the audience while Binibini 27 Jessica Rose McEwen shook the stage as she showed off her popping and hip-hop skills. Binibini 31 Yllana Marie Aduana gave a duet while Binibini 33 Justine Punsalang gave a hair-raising spoken poetry. 

Binibini 34 Christine Juliane Opiaza oozed with hotness as she showed her belly dancing skills. She was followed by Binibini 36 Jannine Navaro who jazzed away with Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary”. Binibini 39 Jasmine Omay offered a regal and exquisite performance of Les’ Miserables’ “Castle on a Cloud” as she played the violin. Binibini 40 Roberta Angela Tamondong capped off the performances with a unique dance routine to the tune of Barbie Girl.  

The competition’s panel of judges was composed of Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) Executive Committee members Irene Jose and Precious Lara Quigaman, Binibining Pilipinas 2021 Best in Talent Vianca Marcelo, and executives from Binibining Pilipinas sponsors and partner companies.

The Binibinis capped off the show in a PRIDE fashion walk that had the girls wearing Binibining Pilipinas shirts with different colors of the LGBTQIA flag.

The winner of the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 Talent Competition will be revealed on the Grand Coronation Night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
